The sun won't shine on a Sunday
the mind flies low as it can go
the clouds are staring to the mountains
pursuing a way to go home
a broken glass, an empty house
a red stain in the floor
a lonely man in a rugged couch and a picture in the wall
Ian died in the dust of an old summer night
and he sat next to his grave,
'till the day his youngest brother with an old rusty knife
gave old Ian back his name
The sun was high
for his first breath of life
the wild middle brother of five
He followed the path of so many of his time
He ran for a badge and a crime
A man got to do what a man got to do
And you know that it won't take long
but his mama knew he was lost long and gone
by the time that he walked out the door
Ian died in the dust of an old summer night
and he sat next to his grave,
'till the day his youngest brother with an old rusty knife
gave old Ian back his name
He was laying alone in the midst of the night
He was waiting to reach the other side
He was dying so slow and so deep was the night
He was waiting to reach the other side
Ian died in the dust of an old summer night
and he sat next to his grave,
'till the day his youngest brother with an old rusty knife
gave old Ian back his name

No one else

There's an old violin on the shelf
and a vow that it won't play for no one else
there are dreams that will never come true
and pictures that started to fade too soon,
There are so many words he won't tell
and so many fingers can trigger and kill,
the fire the flames
the road and the rage
the tale of the song of Uncle James
Lucille
darkest soul and the eyes forest green
Lucille
Windy roads and a promise to keep
He was born in a shack in the woods
She came from the old town's best neighbourhood,
They ran cause it wasn't alright
They followed the coast to the city lights
And so cold were the days in the yards
And so warm was the taste of her loving arms
The sun and the rain
The wind and the waves
The tale of the song of Uncle James
Lucille
darkest soul and the eyes forest green
Lucille
Windy roads and a promise to keep

Twenty seven

I was thinking about the day when you died,
the sun and the moon in the sky
the tears and the smiles at the same time
I was thinking about the place where you lie
the fields and the sea on a side
the wind cutting open my eyes
Twenty seven years may be fine
to have a little stroll down the line
staring at the days going by
the faults and the wholes of my life

Wrong side hill
02:58
|
|
||
With a mouth full of dust in the throat
and the wind cutting open my heart
with the wires grabbing my legs and ripping my arms
If there's hate you'll see it in my face
If it's lost you won't find it in this place
where there is a hill, one side is right the other is wrong
I was born on the side where the Sun won't go
I was called like the mud that shatters your door
I was cursed like my land to rise after the fall
If there's hate you'll see it in my face
If it's lost you won't find it in this place
where there is a hill, one side is right the other is wrong
So you shall see when both sides meet
Which one of us has the blood in their teeth and a smile
So you shall see when both sides meet
Which one of us has the blood in their teeth and a
pocket full of dimes, record filled with crimes
a full committed lie there's a gash between these sides growing
